Zootopia 2 Is Now Officially Dominating Streaming Before Disney+ Release

Zootopia 2 has taken the world by storm yet again.

The animated film Zootopia 2 is already a massive hit, topping streaming charts before its release on Disney+. It’s been praised by critics and has become one of the year’s biggest box office successes, earning an impressive $1.746 billion worldwide on a $150 million production budget.

The movie continues to be a huge success! Since its release on digital platforms on January 27, 2026, Zootopia 2 has quickly become the most popular movie to rent or buy online, according to data from FlixPatrol. As of January 29th, it’s currently number one on Amazon, Apple TV, and Vudu. It’s only slightly lower on Google, where it holds the number five spot.

In Zootopia 2, Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps are on the hunt for Gary De’Snake, whom they’re supposed to arrest. But when they themselves are falsely accused of a crime, they launch a secret investigation that uncovers a hidden underbelly of corruption within Zootopia.

Zootopia 2 is receiving fantastic reviews, with a 91% rating from critics and a 96% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s become one of the most celebrated films of 2025, and has also achieved major box office success – it’s the second highest-grossing movie of the year, the second highest-grossing animated film ever, and ranks ninth among all films worldwide.

The movie is already a critical success, earning nominations for major awards like the Oscars (Best Animated Film) and two Golden Globes – for Best Animated Feature and for its box office performance. It’s also received seven Annie Award nominations and five nominations from the Visual Effects Society, proving it’s been widely recognized by industry professionals, not just moviegoers.

It’s no surprise the movie became a huge success so quickly after becoming available to rent or buy online. While it’s currently unknown when it will be streaming on Disney+, you can purchase a DVD or Blu-ray copy starting March 3rd. Though Zootopia 2 ended its run in theaters, the movie is now finding a new audience and achieving great success with at-home viewers.

Because Zootopia 2 is already incredibly popular on demand, it’s expected to do very well when it’s released on Disney+. Even though it might be a while before it arrives on the streaming service, its current success suggests it will continue to be a hit for a long time.
