Here’s some interesting news: two former members of One Direction are hitting the road together! Unfortunately, this isn’t a concert you can attend. Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson are embarking on a US road trip that will be documented in a three-part series with Netflix. The series is directed by Nicola Marsh, known for Child Star, and will showcase Malik and Tomlinson reconnecting as they travel across the country. A release date hasn’t been announced yet. According to a press release from THR, the show offers “a rare look inside the world of two of the most famous – and most private – men on the planet opening up about life, loss and fatherhood.” Sadly, last year, another One Direction member, Liam Payne, passed away after a tragic fall from a balcony in Argentina. As of now, it’s unclear if Niall Horan and Harry Styles will be featured in the series.
Quite a bit has changed for both singers since Zayn Malik left the band in 2015, leading to a break in 2016. Malik and Tomlinson had a disagreement after the band split, and it even played out publicly on Twitter. Thankfully, they’ve made amends and are now friendly enough to happily spend hours together in a car. Perhaps it will bring back memories of their time in 1D, or at least give fans some fun karaoke moments.
