Get ready for a surprising team-up! The popular soccer game, eFootball, is crossing over with the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. This means you’ll be able to play with Yu-Gi-Oh! monsters in eFootball, and soccer star Neymar will appear as a card in Yu-Gi-Oh!
Konami, the company behind both games, revealed a crossover event on September 25th. It will combine elements from each game and introduce unique and exciting items to both.
For a limited time – until October 23rd – players who log in to eFootball will get a unique card that turns Neymar into the Dark Magician within the game.
He isn’t the only one experimenting with this – French players Jules Kounde and Warren Zaire-Emery have also been using special cards featuring Slither the Sky Dragon and Red-Eyes Black Dragon. These items, along with decorations like a massive Exodia or a collection of Kuriboh, can be earned by completing in-game challenges.
Neymar gets his own card in Yu-Gi-Oh! collab
The connection goes both ways: eFootball is also influencing Yu-Gi-Oh! Players who play eFootball starting September 27th can earn a special Neymar Jr. card and a Yu-Gi-Oh card themed around eFootball called Rescue Rabbit.
It’s disappointing for fans hoping to use Neymar as a powerful monster in their duels, but his card doesn’t have attack or defense points, meaning it’s not classified as one. Still, it can be used in place of a token, so it’s not entirely useless in a deck.
For those who enjoy Master Duel, a special event with football-themed prizes will be held from October 6th to November 7th.
It’s not entirely unexpected, considering Konami owns both Yu-Gi-Oh! and the football franchise, but a crossover between the two is still a fun surprise! Whether you prefer playing on the field or in the world of duels, get ready to play!
