A YouTube personality, having invested $14,000 in a highly lifelike Collie costume for personal transformation, is planning to establish a zoo that offers visitors the opportunity to assume animal roles.
In the year 2023, a Japanese gentleman named ‘Toco’ gained widespread attention on social media platforms as he displayed his remarkable dog attire, leaving many spectators bewildered and mistaking him for a genuine canine.
The garment required forty days for its creation and has since been a mainstay in Toco’s YouTube videos. However, he’s now elevating his canine domain to new heights.
In October, Toco revealed he would be opening ‘Tocotoco Zoo.’ The premise? You become the animal.

In a YouTube video, Toco shared the reason behind opening the zoo. He said, “As a kid, I’ve always dreamt of being close to animals. And as an adult, that childhood dream manifested itself as a zoo, in the form of costumes!
In my youth, I often daydreamed about the idea of transforming into an animal. I wondered, ‘Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there was a service for this purpose?’ As I grew older, I pondered what I could do to assist others who shared my curiosity and longing. How might I make this dream a reality for them?
As indicated on the zoo’s website, it is possible for humans to interact with an Alaskan Malamute, but visitors must meet specific conditions. These requirements include being under 5’11 and over 4’11 in height to comfortably participate.
On the Tocotoco Zoo website, it’s mentioned that if you find difficulty in opening or closing your mouth, they offer a 10% discount.
30 days prior booking is required, with a fee of around $315 per individual, to transform into a dog for 180 minutes. Special offers are available for couples or groups seeking an enhanced experience.
In 2024, the zoo had a preview event before its grand opening, which took place on January 26th. At present, reservations are being accepted for visits in February and March. The zoo is situated in Saitama Prefecture, just north of Tokyo.
In December, Toco shared a video showcasing a guest donning the costume, transforming into a dog and demonstrating adorable tricks!
Though the specific animal costumes for Tocotoco Zoo that might be under production remain unknown, it’s clear that Toco has expressed a desire to dress up as a panda. However, he’s chosen against choosing cats or foxes, finding them too small for humans to attempt wearing comfortably due to their size.
