Cody Detwiler, who is popular on YouTube as WhistlinDiesel, has been arrested once more for issues with his taxes. He says he owes around $30,000.
On November 12, 2025, Detwiler, a popular YouTuber known for his car-related content, was arrested for tax evasion. He was processed at the Williamson County, Tennessee jail, but released on a $2 million bond just hours after his arrest.
Just 74 days after his first arrest, he was arrested again. According to an Instagram post, he was taken into custody by authorities upon arriving in the United States on January 25, 2025. However, he was released after only 50 minutes, though he had to pay a fine.
The internet personality, known for his cheerful mugshot, says he owes $30,000 in taxes. He claims he never received any notices about the debt.
WhistlinDiesel arrested for tax-related offenses again
The misunderstanding seems to be related to a specific vehicle. This car, mentioned in charges of tax evasion, was originally registered in Montana. But it was later totaled in another state.
The YouTuber said he wasn’t notified about any tax issues with a letter, but instead faced a three-year investigation, according to a post on social media.
“They did not give me any notice or any opportunity to pay any tax.”

Following his arrest late in 2025, WhistlinDiesel stated he has always been up-to-date on his taxes.
This wasn’t the first time he’d had trouble with the law. Back in 2022, he faced minor charges and could have been jailed for up to a year after causing a disturbance while riding a jetski on a local lake.
