Google has been experimenting with AI-generated answers alongside regular search results. Unfortunately, this AI isn’t always reliable and sometimes gives completely incorrect or bizarre advice. For instance, it once suggested people eat rocks daily and even recommended gluing cheese to pizza – clearly not helpful!
The latest funny mistake involves GTA 6 and comes from the efforts of a YouTuber, Jeffery Phillips.
- This content creator decided to see if he could trick Google’s AI into believing some nonsense related to Grand Theft Auto VI. His first few attempts failed. He only succeeded when he tried to convince the AI that GTA 6 would feature a separate button dedicated solely to activating twerking, which would make the character rhythmically shake their buttocks when pressed.
- To achieve this, he began regularly posting messages on various forums and subreddits stating: “GTA 6 will have a twerking button.”
- It took him three months to succeed, but eventually, his info started popping up in AI Reviews, which are summaries generated by Google’s AI systems.
A “simple” key to success
The YouTuber’s success probably came from being very active on Reddit. Last year, Reddit made a deal with Google to allow its content to be used for improving artificial intelligence. As a result, Google’s AI now uses Reddit as its main source of information, even more than platforms like YouTube, Quora, and Wikipedia.
Okay, so it’s pretty clear this whole thing opens the door to getting tricked online. The GTA 6 stuff is just a silly example, but there are real issues happening. One big problem is this thing called Parasite SEO – basically, companies are paying to flood Reddit with fake positive reviews. And here’s the scary part: when I try to use AI to figure out what products are actually good, the AI ends up giving me results that have been totally manipulated. It’s like the AI is being fed lies, and then I’m getting those lies when I ask for help. It’s a real problem for someone like me who relies on AI to sort through all the noise.
It’s disappointing to see Reddit change, especially since it used to be a reliable source of honest information. Google’s search results have been getting worse lately, so people started adding “Reddit” to their searches to find genuine opinions instead of just ads. Google partnered with Reddit partly because of this, but now the platform is becoming vulnerable to manipulation and losing its authentic voice. It’s no longer the go-to place for everyday users to share and find real opinions.
The highly anticipated game, Grand Theft Auto VI, will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. While a rumor about a dedicated “twerking” button is likely just a joke, anything is possible with Rockstar Games! The game is currently set to launch on May 26, 2026.
