A YouTuber is attempting a radical self-improvement plan: he’s livestreaming his life 24/7 in complete isolation for a full year, hoping to improve his mental wellbeing and lose weight.
A YouTuber named Skip started a project called ‘The Isolation Year’ on January 10, 2026.
He’s been streaming continuously, 24/7, from his home office. This space is fully equipped, even including a bathroom, bed, and a complete workout area with all kinds of fitness gear.
In December 2025, Skip shared details about a big new project in a post to his online community. He explained that he hopes the project will help him refresh and revitalize both his mental and physical state.

He wants to commit to a consistent workout routine and get in shape, and he’s hoping that knowing his audience is watching will keep him accountable and prevent him from making excuses.
He committed to complete focus, refusing to give in to distractions or half-hearted effort. He prioritized discipline – both physically and mentally – learning to control his reactions, maintain a consistent sleep schedule, and honestly monitor his weight. Instead of making excuses, he focused on eliminating them.
I see things through to the end, even when they’re difficult. I allow myself to feel uncomfortable emotions instead of avoiding them, and I’ve committed to this process for a full year, working on it privately, without seeking external validation.

During a recent stream, Skip gave viewers a tour of his setup for the coming months, explaining he’s installed multiple cameras throughout the room to offer different perspectives on what he’s doing each day.
He stays active each day by journaling and exercising. He aims to walk 15,000 steps daily using a walking pad, and he plans to add climbing holds to his walls for rock climbing practice.
The room includes a closet where family and helpers can leave supplies like groceries and toiletries without needing to interact with him directly. Before isolating himself for personal growth, he showed the space to what seemed like his whole family.
He shared in a recent video that he’s financing The Isolation Year using his personal savings, profits from his small business, and his wife’s income as a nurse. He acknowledged his family will be on a very tight budget until the project is finished.
As of today, Skip has over 4,000 subscribers on his channel. People leaving comments are really rooting for him to succeed in his year-long challenge of being away from his family, and they’re encouraging him to reach his goals.
While his continuous streaming goal is unusual, he’s not the first. Twitch streamer EmilyCC is well-known for broadcasting almost non-stop for over 1400 days.
