YouTuber Brandon Buckingham is now at home and recovering after a serious illness. He suffered multiple organ failures caused by tuberculosis in late 2025.
In November 2025, popular YouTuber Brandon Buckingham surprised his 1.24 million followers with a post on X (formerly Twitter) revealing that his heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys were failing.
Buckingham recently revealed he was diagnosed with possible tuberculosis, septic pneumonia, and liver failure. Shortly after, he shared a GoFundMe link to help with his medical bills, and his fans quickly raised over $75,000 to support him.
For the next two months, everything was calm. Then, on January 29, 2026, Buckingham reassured his fans with a tweet and a 28-minute video posted on YouTube.
I’m in the ICU and everything is shutting down – my heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys are all failing. I’m not doing well, and I want you to know I love you all.

Brandon Buckingham describes health journey after multiple organ failure
Buckingham shared in a video that he first noticed symptoms as early as June 2025 while filming a piece about the Kia Boys in Detroit. While riding in a car during that project, the vehicle was shot at, which caused him ongoing anxiety and sleeplessness. This eventually led to a mental breakdown while he was attending the Shambhala EDM festival.
Man, things were getting rough. I couldn’t sleep, and I started getting sick a lot – like, constantly throwing up. Then my hands and feet started going numb, which was super freaky. On top of everything, I developed this really sharp pain in my chest. It got to the point where I had to step away from filming for the rest of the year. My health just had to come first, you know?
He began vomiting constantly, all day, every day, and couldn’t even hold down liquids like broth or water. As a result, he lost a significant amount of weight, dropping from 195 pounds to 165 pounds.

He tried everything he could think of – home treatments, urgent care, even a trip to the emergency room – but nothing seemed to help.
On November 18, 2025, the 6’3″ YouTuber, weighing 157 lbs, became severely ill. His health deteriorated to the point where he oversleep and missed an important vet appointment for his dog. While his wife was away, she grew worried and asked the police to check on him. They found him confused, with swollen feet and unable to hear in either ear.
A friend drove Buckingham to urgent care because his blood pressure was dangerously low, measuring 76/48.
Doctors found the patient was critically ill with a severe infection (sepsis) that had caused his kidneys, liver, and pancreas to suddenly stop working. He also had pneumonia in both lungs and dangerously high potassium levels. Tests suggested he might have tuberculosis, and revealed significant lung damage and a severely weakened heart, which was only pumping blood effectively at 15 to 20% of its normal capacity.
Okay, so things are really tough right now. I’m not usually one to ask for help, but my family and I are in a seriously bad spot. I’ve had to set up a GoFundMe, and honestly, it’s a little embarrassing, but I don’t know where else to turn. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who’s already sent supportive messages – it means a lot to me, seriously.

Buckingham clarified that his health issues weren’t related to drug or alcohol use. He suggested that showing himself seemingly under the influence in his videos might have led people to assume he had a wilder personal life than he actually did.
He was finally diagnosed with sepsis pneumonia, a serious infection that spread to his lungs and blood, causing several organs to fail. Doctors also determined he had Coxsackie Virus type B, which was responsible for his heart failure.
Brandon Buckingham finally home after “indescribably brutal” illness
After a long recovery, Buckingham is finally home and his liver, kidneys, and pancreas are functioning normally. Unfortunately, the infection caused permanent lung damage and he continues to experience heart failure, meaning he’ll need to take medication for the rest of his life.
Even though he went through a really tough time, the YouTuber is incredibly grateful for all the support, kindness, and financial help he received while he was sick. He’s now concentrating on getting better and finishing up videos he’s already shot, with his Kia Boys documentary being his main priority right now.
Hey everyone, just wanted to give you an update on my medical bills. They’ve unfortunately climbed to $450,000 now. If you’re able and willing to help out, any donation to my GoFundMe would be hugely appreciated. It really means a lot.
People are sharing encouraging messages and support in the comments on his recent posts, and as of today, his GoFundMe campaign has raised over $327,804.
