James Rolfe, the popular YouTuber famous as The Angry Video Game Nerd, has joined the growing number of online personalities launching their own food products – and his is a hot sauce, as many fans expected.
The Angry Video Game Nerd has been a popular figure online since the early 2000s. Rolfe, the creator, was a pioneer in reviewing old video games, becoming known for his videos where he passionately – and often angrily – plays through notoriously difficult and badly made games.
Cinemassacre, the channel and company created by James Rolfe, started before YouTube even existed, but has been a presence on the platform since 2006. Known for his candid and often explicit commentary, he’s created over 150 episodes of his popular ‘Angry Video Game Nerd’ series reviewing classic games. He also wrote and released his own movie in 2014 and has since developed games based on his online persona.
Rolfe has just released a new line of hot sauces inspired by Cinemassacre and the Angry Video Game Nerd, and they’re available to order in advance now.
AVGN reveals his own trilogy of hot sauces that will make you feel pain
YouTuber The Nerd announced on November 14th that he’s planning to launch three new hot sauces in December 2025.
So, I tried this sauce called ‘Angry Video Game Sauce’ first, and it’s definitely the mildest of the bunch. It’s got a really smooth flavor, a nice kick of spice, and just a tiny bit of bitterness. It’s not overwhelming at all, honestly.
Next up is the ‘Monster Madness Sauce’, inspired by his annual October tradition of sharing Halloween-themed content, usually reviews of classic horror films.
Lastly, there’s the ‘Dumpin’ Buffalo Sauce,’ rated an extremely hot 26/10 on their heat scale. The website describes it with colorful language, comparing the heat to something intensely unpleasant and warning it will cause significant digestive distress.
This gift is perfect for anyone – from passionate gamers to spice lovers, or even someone you secretly dislike! It’s guaranteed to pack a flavorful punch… and a serious kick.
Each sauce is priced individually at $14.99, or you can pre-order the trilogy pack for $39.99.
Rolfe is the latest in a growing number of online personalities launching their own food products. Others include Logan Paul with his Prime Hydration drink and Pokimane with her cookies. Even the metal band Slayer got in on the trend this year, releasing a hot sauce called ‘Raining Blood.’
