Okay, so this is pretty cool – I heard that the actor who played my TV dad on Young Sheldon, George Cooper Sr., is going to be in an upcoming episode of Georgie & Mandy’s First Wedding! It’s awesome they’re bringing back some of the original cast. I’m definitely tuning in to see how they make that happen!
The character George Cooper Sr. died of a heart attack, which was referenced in The Big Bang Theory and shown in the final season of Young Sheldon.
However, a strong father figure is hard to keep away, and Lance Barber’s character made a comeback in Season 1 of Georgie & Mandy’s First Wedding, appearing to Georgie through dreamlike visions.
He’s set to return to that sitcom during Season 2, alongside a few more Young Sheldon favorites.
George and Georgie reunited
George Cooper Sr. will be featured in the 18th episode of ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Wedding,’ when the show comes back later this month.
Okay, so they’re being super secretive about how George is coming back, which is frustrating! But honestly, George isn’t the only familiar face they’re bringing back – there are others, but they’re not telling us who yet. It’s all very hush-hush!
Entertainment Weekly reports that Raegan Revord (Missy), Zoe Perry (Mary), Doc Farrow (Wayne), Matthew Letscher (Fred Fagenbacher), and Rex Linn (Principal Paterson) will all return for Season 2.
The show’s cast marked the event with a TikTok video starring George and Georgie, and an Instagram post from the writers. The post, captioned ‘He is risen,’ shows George, Georgie, Missy, and Mary relaxing in their living room, set to music from Dance Moms.
Montana Jordan, who plays Georgie, recently shared with EW that it’s always fun when cast members from the original ‘Young Sheldon’ return to set. She explained that the actors had a close, family-like relationship both on and off screen, and everyone enjoys working with them.
