The show ‘The Chosen‘ is trying out reality television. They have teamed up with Bear Grylls, who is known from his reality series, to create a new experience.
The Show “The Chosen” Swiftly Became a Television Sensation, Originated by Dallas Jenkins who is responsible for its writing and direction, it delves into the life and era of Jesus of Nazareth.
The show started airing in 2017, running through four seasons so far, with a goal of seven in total. Originally available on Vid Angel, it later expanded to platforms like Netflix, YouTube, Facebook, and could be streamed for free directly from the show’s official website and app.
Jenkins has recently revealed an agreement with MGM Studios, under which the concluding episodes will be premiered both in cinemas and on Amazon’s Prime Video platform. Additionally, plans are being made for a reality TV series spinoff.
The Chosen is heading into the wild with Bear Grylls
Through that agreement with Prime Video, Amazon has additionally greenlit an unscripted show titled “The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls.
In the new reality series, Dallas Jenkins and his fellow actors will venture into the wild, guided by a skilled British survival expert and ex-SAS operative, to pick up essential wilderness survival techniques.
Grylls often embarks on adventures alongside famous personalities, having previously guided stars like Zac Efron, Channing Tatum, Ben Stiller, Michelle Rodriguez, Kate Winslet, Michael B. Jordan, Julia Roberts, and Bradley Cooper in his ‘Running Wild’ program.
Recently, he has introduced a new Netflix show titled “Celebrity Bear Hunt”. This entertaining series includes famous personalities such as Boris Becker, Mel B, Lauren Llewellyn-Bowen, and Joe Thomas.
Regarding the Prime deal, Jenkins commented in a statement: “The team at Amazon MGM Studios has demonstrated their passion for this show and our audience for years. By joining forces with them, we’ll improve even further and reach more viewers. I’m thrilled about developing this partnership!
