‘You’ Sets Final Season Release Date at Netflix: ‘Back to Where It Began’

Netflix has set the premiere date for the “You” Season 5, which will be the show’s final outing.

On April 24th, I’ll be back, marking the conclusion of an epic fifth and final season. The official synopsis for these last episodes hints that my character, Joe Goldberg, portrayed brilliantly by Penn Badgley, will return to New York seeking his ‘happily ever after.’ However, it seems that this idyllic life might be disrupted by the specters of his past and the shadows of his own deep-seated desires.

Netflix has also dropped the first teaser for the new season, which can be seen below.

In the introductory scene, Joe returns to Mooney’s bookstore, recalling the events that brought him here. “Here we are, reunited once more, back to where our story started,” Joe remarks. “And throughout it all, the one constant, the unchanging factor in my life, has been you.

In March 2023, it became public knowledge that “You” was planning to conclude after its fifth season. Additionally, it was disclosed that series executives Michael Foley and Justin Lo would assume the role of showrunners for the final season, with Sera Gamble continuing as an executive producer.

As a dedicated movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that alongside Penn Badgley, the fifth season of “You” features an outstanding cast including Charlotte Ritchie, Madeline Brewer, Anna Camp, and Griffin Matthews.

Badgley is joined by Foley, Lo, and Gamble as executive producers for the series. Additionally, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Leslie Morgenstein, Gina Girolamo, Marcos Siega, and Neil Reynolds are also serving as executive producers. The production companies responsible for this project are Berlanti Productions and Alloy Entertainment, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television.

So concludes the story of “Your” screen adventure. The series initially made its premiere on Lifetime back in 2018, but unfortunately met an end after just one season. However, it found a new life at Netflix, where it gained immense popularity among viewers. In February and March of 2023, the fourth season was split into two parts, with the first part released in February and the second following in March.
