Though he’s actively pursuing the role of Batman in the new DC Universe, actor Brandon Sklenar will soon be showcasing his action skills in a thrilling new film that should appeal to fans of both Yellowstone and modern Westerns. Sklenar, who previously appeared in Vice, Midway, and Westworld, gained significant recognition for his role as Spencer Dutton in the Yellowstone prequel series. Now, he’s reuniting with a fellow Yellowstone cast member for what promises to be a suspenseful and exciting thriller.
As reported by Deadline, actress Sklenar will star in the new film The Rescue, alongside Hassie Harrison of Yellowstone. The movie is directed by Potsy Ponciroli, known for the 2021 Western Old Henry and the upcoming action thriller Motor City featuring Alan Ritchson from Reacher. The script was written by John Fusco, who also penned Young Guns.
I’m hearing that filming on The Rescue is finally set to begin at the start of next year. Apparently, this project has been a top priority for Skydance for a long time – even before their merger with Paramount. It’s actually one of the first movies the newly combined company has officially given the go-ahead to, which is exciting!
Details about the story are still being kept secret, but The Rescue is being called a “modern Western” about a rodeo cowboy who has to use his abilities in a dangerous situation outside of the rodeo. It sounds like an exciting mix of Western themes and current action, making it a potentially great watch for fans of Taylor Sheridan’s work.
Both Brandon Sklenar & Hassie Harrison Have Plenty of Action Thriller Fare in the Pipeline

Both Brandon Sklenar and Hassie Harrison, fresh off their roles in The Rescue, have more thrilling projects on the way. Harrison, known for her work on Yellowstone and the recent horror film Dangerous Animals, will appear in Raven with a stellar cast including Anthony Mackie, Pablo Schreiber, Ben Foster, and Ron Livingston.
Tom Sierchio’s Raven delivers classic action-thriller thrills, centering on a former Detroit police officer now working as a hitman. He’s trying to leave his violent past behind, but attempting to do so unleashes a new wave of trouble.
Brandon Sklenar, currently starring in the thriller The Housemaid with Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, is working again with Taylor Sheridan on a new action thriller called F.A.S.T., directed by Ben Richardson (known for 1923 and Those Who Wish Me Dead). F.A.S.T., scheduled for release on April 23, 2027, follows a former special forces soldier who returns home and is recruited by the DEA to lead a secret team against drug dealers protected by the CIA. And, of course, there’s still talk about who will play Batman…
