As a die-hard Yellowstone fan who’s been riding this wild ride for seven long, action-packed years, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions as I type this. The series finale, with its record-breaking 11.4 million viewers, has left me in awe and filled my heart with a sense of camaraderie with fellow fans.
“Yellowstone” rode off into the sunset on a ratings high-note.
On Sunday evening, a record-breaking 11.4 million viewers tuned into the final episode of the Paramount Network’s modern Western drama, as per VideoAmp data shared by Paramount. The company states that this makes it the highest-viewed episode in the series’ entire run, with the finale being broadcast on both Paramount Network and CMT.
Currently, Paramount Global isn’t relying on Nielsen data since their contract came to an end in September. Negotiations are still underway. At the moment, there’s no Nielsen data for Sundays, and we’ll update this story as soon as it becomes available.
As a dedicated fan, I’ve always looked forward to tuning into “Yellowstone” on Paramount Network. The second half of Season 5 has been no different, maintaining its status as a ratings powerhouse. According to VideoAmp, the premiere of Season 5B garnered an impressive viewership of 16.4 million viewers across Paramount Network, CBS, and other cable networks under Paramount’s umbrella, along with repeat airings. It’s important to clarify that when they say the finale was the most-watched episode, they’re referring to episodes broadcasted on Paramount Network (and now CMT) on a Live+Same Day basis, excluding encore presentations and similar instances. Previous ratings data for the show has come from Nielsen, but with VideoAmp numbers being used here.
There was uncertainty about whether the upcoming episode airing on Sunday was just the season ender or the final episode of the entire series. However, before the episode aired, “Yellowstone” actress Kelly Reilly clarified on social media that indeed it marked the conclusion of the series.
Hello there! As a film enthusiast, I’m currently immersed in another captivating role set in a land worth fighting for here in the UK. Yet, on the other side of the Atlantic, the grand finale of an extraordinary series is unfolding tonight. Regardless of what lies ahead, this is the climactic end to a show we’ve been crafting together for the past seven years.
The final scene brought about the demise of another significant character, yet paved the way for the long-anticipated spinoff series centering around Rip (Cole Hauser) and Beth (Reilly). For a detailed account of the events in this episode, check out EbMaster‘s recap here.
