Sega has released updated versions of Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is also now available on Steam.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, several Yakuza games have recently been released on various platforms. Here’s where you can find them: Yakuza Kiwami is available on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. Yakuza Kiwami 2 is now on Nintendo Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC, and you can read my review of it on Switch 2 here. SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio released updated versions of classic Yakuza games today, including Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza Kiwami 2, and Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Like a Dragon & Yakuza series, these popular games are now available on more platforms, letting even more players enjoy them worldwide. For the first time, the games include text in French, Italian, German, Spanish (both European and Latin American), Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian.
Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, a highly praised game that tells the story of how the Yakuza saga began, now includes extra cutscenes and a new online co-op mode called ‘Red Light Raid’. It also features English and Chinese voiceovers, and text in French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian. Fans will also be happy to hear that the theme song ‘Bubble,’ which wasn’t in the original Western version, has been added.
If you already own the digital version of Yakuza 0 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Steam, you might be able to upgrade to the digital version of Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Steam for just $14.99 – that’s a big discount from the usual price of $49.99. Prices and availability may differ depending on where you live.
Yakuza Kiwami is a complete remake of the very first Yakuza game, originally released almost 20 years ago. You play as Kazuma Kiryu, an ex-yakuza, and become entangled in a massive 10-billion-yen mystery in Tokyo’s entertainment district. Rely on your fighting skills and determination to become a legendary figure.
