RGG Studio just announced that *Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties* will be released on February 12, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series, and PC (via Steam).
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties combines a rebuilt version of Yakuza 3 with a completely new story starring Yoshitakan Mine, a character from the original Yakuza 3. The remake also adds fresh content and improvements to the original game.
Following the official announcement, retailers have updated their listings. It’s now confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released as a PC SteelBook Edition in Europe, while North America and Europe will receive a physical Game Key Card. You can see the box art from these retailer listings below.
Okay, so as of today, I’ve checked and it looks like the game isn’t showing up at most European stores yet. But if you’re in North America, you can actually find it for sale already! It’s a bit weird that it’s not available everywhere at the same time, but hopefully it’ll be hitting European shelves soon.

In Yakuza Kiwami 3, Kazuma Kiryu and his adopted daughter, Haruka, are building a new life in Okinawa, running an orphanage. Their peaceful existence is threatened when both the government and rival yakuza groups target the land the orphanage sits on. Kiryu must fight to protect his new family and everything he holds dear, but at what cost? Can he save the orphanage and finally leave his dangerous past behind?
Yakuza Kiwami 3 has been completely remade, offering an enhanced experience with new cutscenes and side quests that bring both Okinawa and Kamurocho to life. Key improvements include:
Players can now switch between two distinct fighting styles for an incredible combat experience. “Dragon of Dojima: Kiwami” is a powerful, dominant brawling style with more moves than ever before. The new “Ryukyu Style” focuses on weapon-based combat inspired by Okinawan martial arts, letting you create diverse combos with eight different weapons. Together, these styles deliver the ultimate fighting experience!
“Legendary Baddie, Bad Boy Dragon” is a team-based game mode where you create and lead a biker gang. Players will team up with the Ryukyu Gal Gang, a group of female bikers dedicated to keeping the streets of Okinawa safe.
Dark Ties is a new story focusing on Yoshitaka Mine, a powerful enemy from Yakuza 3. It reveals what happened in Mine’s life *before* the events of Yakuza 3, exploring his past, his desire for strong relationships, and how he went from running a business to becoming involved with the yakuza. Key features include:
Okay, so get this – I finally get to *play as* Mine! Seriously, it’s a whole new experience. The combat is awesome – it’s all about boxing, but super stylish and polished. And you get to explore Kamurocho as her, which is cool enough, but the best part is seeing Mine actually let loose and have some fun. She’s usually so serious, so it’s a really different side of her.
Activate “Dark Awakening” to let Mine embrace her inner darkness, launching a furious attack with non-stop combos and ending enemies with a powerful, darkness-enhanced finishing blow.
Hell’s Arena is a fight club where players battle using different rules. In the ‘Survival Hell’ mode, you’ll fight through a dangerous dungeon, facing waves of enemies to complete the challenge.
