Sega and RGG Studio have announced that the original version of Yakuza 0 will be removed from digital stores the moment the updated Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut becomes available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
Just after announcing upgrade options for owners of Yakuza 0 and the Kiwami games, we’ve learned that the original Yakuza game will be removed from digital stores. When that happens, the digital bundle, ‘Yakuza Complete Series,’ will be updated to include the Director’s Cut version. Also, the PC versions of Yakuza 0, Kiwami, and Kiwami 2 will no longer be available for purchase on Windows 10 starting December 8th. Thanks to Wario64 for letting us know!

Just wanted to let everyone know, as of today, there’s still no news about whether Yakuza 0 will be coming to GOG. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, but haven’t seen anything official yet!
Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is out now on Nintendo Switch! You can find my review linked here. It will also be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on December 8th.
You can find Sega and RGG Studio’s full announcement for the delisting below:
Changes to Existing Titles and Bundles
Starting December 8th at 8:30 AM PST, you won’t be able to buy Yakuza 0 digitally on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Steam anymore.
Those who get Yakuza 0 by 08:29 am PST on December 8th can continue to download and play the title.
If you purchase the digital version of Yakuza 0 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Steam before December 8th at 8:29 AM PST, you’ll have the option to upgrade to the digital version of Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Steam for only $14.99. That’s a great deal, as the Director’s Cut normally costs $49.99.
Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is now included instead of the original Yakuza 0 in the Yakuza Complete Series bundle on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam.
I just heard some news about the Yakuza games on the Microsoft Store, and wanted to share! It looks like after December 8th at 9:00 AM PST, you won’t be able to buy Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, or Yakuza Kiwami 2 digitally anymore. But don’t worry, if you grab them before 8:59 AM PST on December 8th, you’ll still be able to download and play them as usual. So if you’ve been thinking about getting these amazing games, now’s the time!
We appreciate your ongoing support of the Like a Dragon and Yakuza games! We’re excited about the February 12th, 2026 release of Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam.
