xQc and Pokimane recently disagreed about the current state of livestreaming. This came after Pokimane expressed nostalgia for the earlier days of streaming, when the focus was more on gameplay and less on drama.
Pokimane shared on X that she longs for the days when streaming focused on gameplay, rather than creating controversy and chasing viral clips, and this quickly led to a conversation among other content creators.
i miss when streaming was about gaming, not just drama baiting and clip farming 🧍🏻♀️

xQc disagreed with the claim that he contributed to the increase in online drama, arguing that Pokimane’s actions in 2022 were actually the catalyst for the shift.
xQc says Pokimane “farmed” him for drama
He described spending his days playing Grand Theft Auto Roleplay and his nights playing online slot games, streaming both. He said this continued until others started using him and Trainwreck as subjects for drama and attention. He then told Pokimane he didn’t appreciate her attitude and challenged her to back up her words with actions.
The issue brought up past disagreements about gambling streams on Twitch. Back in 2022, Twitch created rules to ban live broadcasts from specific gambling websites, such as Stake, Rollbit, Duelbits, and Roobet.
The move comes after a long period of discussion and disagreement regarding gambling streams and sponsorships on the platform. Popular creators like xQc and Trainwreck were key figures in this debate, and Pokimane often publicly criticized their involvement.
xQc mentioned this shift in a later post, explaining that the close-knit group of top streamers had fallen apart and friendships were strained following the decline of gambling content. He believes this breakdown contributed to the creation of Kick, a new platform that, while increasing competition, ultimately caused further division within the streaming community.
“Want streaming to be more about games? Play games.”
The main streaming group fell apart, damaging relationships. This led to conflict and ultimately, people being removed. While this created some competition, it also drove us further apart. If we want streaming to focus on the games themselves, we need to actually play them.

Pokimane has not issued any further response on X at the time of writing.
