Popular streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel doesn’t think Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson deserves a spot on a Mount Rushmore of the greatest YouTubers, and suggests people create a new list instead.
When people debate the greatest of all time on various platforms, the Mount Rushmore analogy often comes up. Opinions differ – some prioritize current stars, while others value the pioneers who originally established those platforms.
Given MrBeast’s massive YouTube subscriber count and his success with other ventures, many believe he deserves to be considered among the most important figures in YouTube history. However, some still argue for the pioneers who built the platform in its early days.
During his stream on February 5th, xQc shared his opinion that MrBeast doesn’t deserve to be included on any Mount Rushmore-style ranking of top creators.
xQc doesn’t believe MrBeast can be on a YouTube MountRushmore
The streamer, who broadcasts on both Twitch and Kick, was reacting to a list created by JasonTheWeen that ranked popular streamers and YouTubers. JasonTheWeen included Donaldson among his top choices on YouTube.
xQc argued that MrBeast doesn’t belong on a ‘Mount Rushmore’ of YouTube creators, saying his early content doesn’t compare to pioneers like Ray William Johnson.
It’s a completely unsupported effort – no money, no promotion, nothing to drive attention. Even incredibly popular content might only get a few million views, and this person had no platform to begin with. We need to move past relying on the same old, overused examples.
This Canadian streamer consistently favors the original, established Twitch personalities when creating his ‘Mount Rushmore’ of top streamers, having previously selected Lirik, Summit1g, Reckful, and Sodapoppin.
Honestly, I also thought it was a little weird when Dan Clancy, the head of Twitch, put Kai Cenat on his Mount Rushmore of streamers back in October. It just didn’t quite sit right with me, you know?
He described a difficult journey, saying he did everything he could to pave the way for others’ success. ‘I struggled and pushed myself in every way possible so that others could thrive,’ he explained, hinting that he deserved recognition for his efforts.
