People who follow WWE star Roman Reigns, known as “The Tribal Chief,” might be surprised to see him playing the character Akuma in the new Street Fighter movie.
He’s shared a sneak peek for fans, revealing a first look at what his character will be like in the new movie.

In the video, Roman Reigns walks up to a classic Street Fighter arcade game. He glances at the camera, and his eyes glow red, mirroring the look of the character Akuma. He then walks away with a sly smile.
Who is WWE’s Roman Reigns playing in the Street Fighter movie?
Roman Reigns will be playing the character Askum in the new Street Fighter movie. He won’t be the only WWE wrestler making an appearance, however – Cody Rhodes, a frequent opponent of Reigns, will star as Guile.
The new Street Fighter movie features Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, and Jason Momoa as main cast members. It also includes appearances by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Andrew Schulz, Eric André, and other well-known performers.
Roman Reigns is taking on a significant Hollywood role, building on his previous appearances in films like Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, The Wrong Missy, and the recent Prime Video movie, The Pickup. He’s also been featured in WWE-produced projects including Countdown, The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-WrestleMania, and Rumble.
Roman Reigns is currently taking a break from WWE to film the movie *Street Fighter*. He last wrestled at *Clash in Paris* on August 31, 2025, in a match against Bronson Reed.
Roman Reigns won his match, but was then attacked by Reed and Bron Breakker. It’s currently unclear when he’ll be back in action. WWE’s first premium live event as part of its new deal with ESPN, called *Wrestlepalooza*, is scheduled for September 20th. The event promises to be full of top stars, and fans are wondering if Reigns will make his return then.
Roman Reigns is a major star in WWE. He recently finished a historic run as Undisputed WWE Champion, holding the title for 1,316 days before losing it at WrestleMania 40.
