It seems that PC users will receive the older version of “The Island” for WWE 2K25, which is essentially the same game as was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One eleven years ago. This decision might not sit well with many. Furthermore, let’s refrain from using “next-gen” to describe this game, given that it has been over four years since its release.

As a dedicated PC gamer, I must admit, this recent development left a somewhat bitter taste. If the only distinction between PC and Console versions is the island, then I can understand and accept it. But if the PC version lacks more content compared to its console counterpart, then it feels like they’re taking advantage of our modding community. #WWE2K25

The decision to exclude this game mode from the PC version and not mention anything about it in the PS4 and Xbox One versions sparked a lot of debate on the WWE Games subreddit. Some players speculated that perhaps it was done to prevent modders and hackers from accessing or tampering with the unique content associated with this mode on PC.
Although it could be a valid explanation, some players have voiced their disappointment about not getting to play The Island mode on PC yet. Further details regarding WWE 2K25 are due to be revealed on January 28th, 2025, at which point we’ll update this post for greater clarity on The Island mode and other game specifics.
