Last January, WWE revealed a preview of WWE 2K25, which has been one of their best-received video games in years. Now, as they begin promoting WWE 2K26, they’ve shared several new hints, though the most recent one appears to contain a mistake.
WWE 2K26 recently released a new teaser video, following two earlier ones focused on the Attitude Era and Monday Night Wars content. This latest video hints at even more new features coming to this year’s game.
The latest preview opened with a shattering glass effect and then dropped several clues about what to expect this year. Fans think they’ve identified several returning characters, including Zack Ryder/Matt Cardona, Blake Monroe, and Victoria, along with a possible new character, Mr. Iguana. The trailer also showed a set of DVDs, which many believe suggests that CM Punk’s classic matches will be featured in a showcase mode.
One match listed included John Cena versus Randy Orton at Breaking Point. Although the match did happen, fans noticed a spelling mistake in Orton’s name. It’s unclear whether this error was deliberate or simply a mistake. This match also sparks speculation about a possible return to the “I Quit” match format. This isn’t the first time this has happened; recently, an AI error in a WWE-AAA promotional video incorrectly identified Dominik Mysterio as the AEW Champion.

The video showed a calendar with “draft” written on January 30, 2026. This likely hints at the return of the WWE Draft to the game’s universe mode, and potentially reveals the date it will be announced or implemented.
WWE has announced that the 2026 Royal Rumble will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on January 31, 2026. The night before, on January 30th, SmackDown will be held at the King Abdullah Financial District.
