As a devoted WWE enthusiast, today feels monumental! The Raw brand is making its grand debut on Netflix with tonight’s show emanating from the vibrant city of Los Angeles. This momentous occasion also signifies the conclusion of an era for WWE 2K23. As we speak, the game’s servers have been permanently shut down by 2K Games.
2K Games announced last September they were ending support for WWE 2K23, which was followed by its removal from digital stores on PlayStation and Xbox in early November. Now, with servers shut down, WWE 2K23 will no longer offer any online features such as multiplayer matches or the ability to download fan-created characters through Community Creations.
Nonetheless, those who bought WWE 2K23 before its discontinuation can still enjoy playing it offline. The upcoming WWE 2K24 is likely to follow a similar path. This year’s edition introduced the special referee mode and celebrated 40 Years of WrestleMania, enabling players to reenact iconic matches from “the immortal event.
As a passionate gamer, I can’t wait for the upcoming WWE 2K25! If history repeats itself, we might see it drop sometime around the beginning of this year. But here’s an exciting twist: With past collaborations between WWE superstars and games like Call of Duty and Fortnite, it’s possible that our favorite wrestlers could show up in more than just the next WWE 2K title in 2025!
