Wuthering Waves Fans Sound Off on the New Update and Optimization

Fans are really enjoying the newest update to Kuro Games’ Wuthering Waves, especially the quests and how the game looks. However, many players are also complaining about performance issues, and are asking the developers to improve how well the game runs.

The newest big update for Wuthering Waves, version 3.1 and titled “For You Who Walk in Snow,” launched on February 4th. It added new story elements, events, and many smaller improvements. While initial reactions to the new content have been mostly positive, more and more players are now focusing on the update’s technical performance, and many aren’t happy with what they’re finding.

Wuthering Waves Players Criticize 3.1 Performance

Since version 3.1 launched, many players have gone to social media to complain about performance problems, saying the update has made the game’s existing technical issues even worse. Players are reporting not only dropped frame rates and visual bugs, but also more serious problems with how the game handles graphics settings. Surprisingly, it seems changing the settings—even to the lowest possible levels—doesn’t improve performance at all. One Reddit user expressed their frustration, saying, “No matter what settings I choose, my FPS doesn’t go up.”

Startorch Academy Is Reportedly the Single Biggest Pain Point in Wuthering Waves 3.1

Players are reporting performance issues with the free-to-play RPG Wuthering Waves across all platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile. The biggest problem seems to be in the new Startorch Academy area, added in update 3.0, where some players are seeing frame rates drop significantly – even by as much as 50%. This is happening to players on powerful PCs as well as those on PlayStation and mobile devices. TopMob’s review of social media posts shows that PlayStation 5 users are reporting these issues with Startorch Academy more than any other group.

Okay, so despite a few bugs here and there, update 3.1 is a huge win! The new area, Roya Frostlands, is seriously cool – it’s all snowy and looks amazing. And the story they added? Wow, it’s really grabbed me. It’s packed with lore and actually made me feel something, which is awesome. But honestly, what I’m loving the most are the little changes they made to make the game smoother. Leveling up feels way better now, especially for us returning players, and farming for materials isn’t such a grind anymore. They really listened to what we wanted!

Version 3.1 for mobile devices adds a new Joystick Control option, letting players steer the motorbike with a single stick. This improvement has been popular with those who found the touchscreen controls difficult to use. Overall, this update includes a lot of new content, making it one of the game’s biggest releases yet. However, some players are still experiencing performance issues, which affects how positively the update has been received.
