Some World of Warcraft players have been unexpectedly banned from Pinterest due to a new in-game housing feature. Blizzard is aware of the problem and is working to resolve it.
Players will finally be able to decorate their own homes in World of Warcraft with the release of the Midnight expansion on March 2nd. However, some players with early access have already had a chance to test out the new housing feature.
To celebrate, Blizzard let us link our game accounts to Pinterest! It’s pretty cool – you can upload screenshots you take with the in-game Pin-o-Matic Camera, and you get a special achievement and a cool toy for your character as a reward.
The launch hasn’t gone perfectly. Several players have said their Pinterest accounts were suspended after they connected them to World of Warcraft and shared a screenshot.
Blizzard responds to WoW players getting banned on Pinterest
People are sharing many complaints on Reddit and online forums about being banned from Pinterest.

A user reported their Pinterest account, which they’d had for over a decade, was suspended after they posted just one picture – a screenshot of their house from the game World of Warcraft.
Man, this is frustrating! I actually created a whole separate account just to focus on decorating my player housing in World of Warcraft, and Blizzard banned all my accounts – the new one and my original ones! It’s a total bummer.
So, a lot of us have tried getting our accounts restored, but honestly, it hasn’t worked for anyone yet. It’s pretty frustrating!
Okay, so it’s still a mystery why so many accounts got banned! I saw one person suggest that Pinterest maybe didn’t update their spam filter after a recent change, but honestly, nobody’s confirmed that’s what happened. It’s just a guess right now.
After receiving complaints, Blizzard said they’re looking into the problem and have contacted Pinterest.
We’ve temporarily turned off the feature while we work on a fix. We’re monitoring the situation closely and will restore it as soon as possible.
Even though there’s a problem, the concept itself seems good in theory. People frequently use Pinterest to discover ideas and visual styles.
Blizzard actively uses TikTok, even maintaining an official World of Warcraft account where they showcase various player housing designs.
