World Cup 2026 sticker album could cost over $2,000 to complete

Panini is launching its largest-ever World Cup sticker album for the 2026 tournament, but collecting all the stickers could cost more than $2,000.

If you grew up loving sports, you probably remember collecting Panini stickers. Every time there’s a big international soccer tournament, Panini releases a new album, and fans eagerly buy packs hoping to find stickers of their favorite players and complete the whole collection.

So, the official FIFA World Cup game is back, and I’m hyped! The first one dropped way back in 1970 for the Mexico World Cup, and now the USA 2026 version is finally here. It’s massive – they’ve got 980 players representing all 48 countries that qualified. Seriously, all the big names are in it, like Messi and Mbappe, plus stars from the host nations like Alphonso Davies and Christian Pulisic. I can’t wait to build my dream team!

A common question with each new album is how much it will cost to finish, especially since sticker packs have become more expensive over time. One expert estimates that completing the entire 2026 World Cup album could cost more than $2,000.

Panini’s “biggest” World Cup album could cost thousands to fill

Immediately following the news, Kieran Maguire, a leading expert in football finances, estimated the total cost could reach £2,030.

Collecting all 980 stickers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup could cost around £2,030 if each pack of 7 stickers costs £2. If the price per pack is £1.70, the total cost would be approximately £1,777. These estimates assume you don’t trade stickers with other collectors.

As of today, this is approximately $2,686, though a more careful calculation puts it closer to $2,351.

Collecting all 980 stickers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup album could cost around £2,030 if you buy them at an estimated £2 for 7 stickers. If each pack of 7 stickers costs £1.70 instead, the total would be about £1,777. However, if you trade stickers with friends and other collectors, the cost could be significantly lower.

These numbers are based on buying sticker packs one at a time from stores. Ideally, you’d only need 140 packs of seven stickers to collect them all, but you’re likely to get duplicates, and the more stickers you have, the more likely that is to happen.

There are several ways to save money, like purchasing larger packs online, which often provides a better deal.

Serious sticker collectors often trade with each other, swapping duplicates to get the specific players they need instead of relying on opening new packs. According to collector Maguire, a typical trade might cost between £238 and £280, on top of the cost of the sticker album itself.

These numbers are just initial estimates, since the actual products haven’t hit store shelves yet.
