Marvel Television recently shared exciting news about the upcoming series, Wonder Man. Studio leaders have suggested they’re already thinking about the show’s future, leading fans to wonder where the story might go within the larger Marvel TV universe. The series, a new take on a lesser-known Marvel hero, will soon be available on Disney+.
Wonder Man Season 2 could happen on one condition
At New York Comic Con 2025, during the Phase Hero LIVE podcast, Marvel TV’s Brad Winderbaum talked about the plans for the Wonder Man series, including the possibility of it being renewed for another season.
Winderbaum explained that whether there will be more episodes depends on the audience. He stated that Disney+ will decide about continuing the show based on how many people watch and how engaged they are with it.
The discussion came after the debut of the Wonder Man trailer, which features Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams. The show reimagines the classic Marvel hero as an actor trying to balance fame and a fictional superhero identity in a Hollywood satire. The trailer also includes Ben Kingsley reprising his role as Trevor Slattery, tying the series back to Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Winderbaum explained that Wonder Man will be different from typical Marvel superhero shows. He also pointed out that Marvel now tailors its TV series based on how well they’re received by viewers, citing the success of Marvel Zombies as a reason for making more of that type of content.
Wonder Man is a new series from Marvel Studios’ TV team, and it’s part of a wave of upcoming shows like VisionQuest and Daredevil: Born Again, all overseen by Kevin Winderbaum. The first season will debut on Disney+ on January 27, 2026, and whether it continues beyond that will depend on how many people watch and what they think of it.
