A woman in Virginia used ChatGPT to pick lottery numbers, and it paid off – she won $150,000! She’s planning to give all of the winnings to charity.

Carrie Edwards from Midlothian, Virginia, recently won $150,000 in the lottery! She matched four numbers and the Powerball, and because she added the Power Play option, her initial $50,000 prize was multiplied by three. Interestingly, she revealed that she used ChatGPT on her phone to help her pick the winning numbers before buying the ticket.

Edwards recalled: “I’m like, ChatGPT, talk to me… Do you have numbers for me?”

Two days later, while at work, she received a message telling her she’d won the lottery. At first, Edwards assumed it was a scam, but she quickly confirmed the news was actually true.

Donating all her winnings

She explained that the moment she received the unexpected good fortune, she knew exactly how she wanted to use it. She decided to give it all away, feeling incredibly grateful and hoping it would inspire others to share their blessings with those in need.

Edwards said she will divide the prize money evenly between three organizations.

In memory of her husband, a donation will be made to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration. Shalom Farms, which works to ensure everyone has access to healthy food, will also receive support, as will the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, honoring her father’s service.
