Woman sets Guinness World Record with wig taller than a 3 story building

Okay, so this is wild! I just read about this amazing woman from Nigeria who broke a Guinness World Record – and it’s not something small. She created a wig that’s taller than a three-story building! Seriously, a building! That’s a record I definitely didn’t expect to hear about today, but it’s awesome!

Okay, so I just heard about this and it’s incredible! Helen Williams, who makes wigs professionally, has officially broken the world record for the tallest wig ever. Seriously, it’s massive – 15.37 meters tall, which is about 50.42 feet! Can you even imagine? It’s built right on top of her head!

This latest accomplishment gives Williams three world records related to wigs. She previously held the records for the longest wig made by hand and the widest wig ever created.

Record-breaking wig stands over 50 feet tall

Guinness World Records confirms that Williams’ newest sculpture is taller than the building she stood next to when creating it, and wider than the famous Hollywood sign.

Okay, so this is kinda wild. Apparently, someone named Williams used to hold the world record for the longest handmade wig EVER – it was a massive 351.28 meters, or about 1,152 feet long! And get this, it was also super wide, measuring 3.65 meters – almost 12 feet across! Can you even imagine trying to style that thing? Seriously impressive.

Williams confidently stated she doesn’t expect to stop achieving new milestones anytime soon. She compared setting a record to scaling a mountain – the journey is difficult, but the feeling of success at the end is amazing.

She added that breaking another record reinforced her belief that nothing is impossible.

Months of work and a failed test run

Even though she’s made many wigs professionally, Williams explained that creating the tallest one was her biggest challenge yet.

She practiced once before the real attempt, but it didn’t go well, so she had to start over and completely rework her approach.

It was challenging to create the wig stand, so I went back to the drawing board and redesigned it. After a lot of work, I finally found a solution and began building it for real months later – and it turned out great!

This incredible wig was created with 250 bundles of synthetic hair and cost over 3 million Nigerian naira – about £1,551 or $2,066.
