As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a twinge of both excitement and skepticism when it comes to the news about Geralt’s potential return in The Witcher 4. On one hand, Doug Cockle, the voice actor behind everyone’s favorite White Wolf, has hinted at Geralt’s appearance in the upcoming game. However, his recent retraction of those statements leaves me questioning the veracity of these rumors.
In a recent turn of events, voice actor Doug Cockle, who lends his voice to the character Geralt in The Witcher series, initially hinted at Geralt’s appearance in The Witcher 4. However, following some communication with the game developer CD Projekt Red, he has retracted those statements, explaining that they were based on a rumor, and he himself is unsure about Geralt’s involvement in the forthcoming game.
The individual mentioned stated, “I logged onto the internet and made a comment regarding this matter. CD Projekt, however, seemed to refute my claim, as GamesRadar reported… I had merely repeated a rumor–it appeared to me that someone from CD Projekt hinted Geralt might appear in Witcher 4, but he wouldn’t be the primary character. However, since then, they’ve clarified that no official statement has been made, so I’m not sure if the rumor is accurate anymore.
As for the plot of The Witcher 4, I must admit that I am entirely in the dark about it, and whether or not Geralt will make an appearance remains unknown to me. In other words, the storyline for The Witcher 4 is shrouded in mystery.
Previously in August, Cockle made a straightforward statement saying, “We can confirm that Geralt will be included in the game. However, we are unsure to what extent, and the game won’t primarily focus on Geralt, so it’s not all about him this time.” During the same interview, Cockle hinted that he might have been speaking untruthfully about everything discussed.
According to CD Projekt Red’s co-CEO Michał Nowakowski, The Witcher 4 won’t simply be a rehash of The Witcher 3 with fresh outfits; instead, it will introduce new gameplay features and mechanics that were absent in the original trilogy featuring Geralt.
At present, over 400 individuals are actively working on The Witcher 4, with the project now fully underway in development. For additional details, explore what we currently know about The Witcher 4. Simultaneously, CD Projekt Red is also crafting a follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077, alongside other ongoing projects.
