Sean Combs’ documentary, ‘The Reckoning,’ is now more popular on Netflix than ‘Stranger Things.’ 50 Cent is playfully teasing the show and hinting at the possibility of a second season. Please be aware that ‘The Reckoning’ contains potentially upsetting content.
For over a year, 50 Cent hinted at a documentary about Diddy, and Netflix officially acquired it in May 2024. Now that the true crime series is available on Netflix, people are closely examining its many surprising disclosures.
In addition to accusations of sexual assault against Sean “Diddy” Combs, a new report alleges he attempted to have Tupac Shakur killed, expensed Biggie Smalls’ funeral to his company, and avoided paying compensation to those affected by a 1991 incident at City College.
The documentary series includes previously unreleased footage of Diddy, prompting his legal team to demand Netflix halt its release. Despite this, the series, titled ‘The Reckoning,’ launched as planned, and discussions are now underway about creating a sequel.
Will there be The Reckoning Season 2?
As of now, a second season of “Sean Combs: The Reckoning” hasn’t been officially confirmed by Netflix. However, a recent social media post by 50 Cent indicates that Netflix and those involved are in talks about it.

On Monday, December 8th, rapper Curtis Jackson (also known as 50 Cent) posted a photo on Instagram. The picture showed him in a meeting, highlighting a promotional image for his true crime documentary series.
He joked that he’d been in three meetings with Netflix that day, and playfully referenced the fact that a new show, The Reckoning, had overtaken Stranger Things as the most popular show on the streaming platform.
He stated this was his third meeting at Netflix today, and while acknowledging the significant investment in ‘Stranger Things,’ he asserted his own superior performance. He claimed to be the top performer in 43 countries and a close second in eight more, emphasizing these were verifiable facts.
The post has gotten a lot of attention, with many people hoping for another season. One commenter wrote, “We need more episodes, or a Season 2, please!” Another responded, suggesting the creator might already be working on it.
Viewers are eagerly asking for a second season. One person said a Part 2 is needed because important details were missing. Another viewer expressed a desire for more episodes, specifically to continue revealing information about Diddy and the harm he’s allegedly caused to others.
Some people are urging him to investigate other figures. One person requested he look into Jay-Z, while another asked if he could turn his attention to the files related to 50 Cent and Jeffrey Epstein.
It’s clear people are watching, but Netflix needs to analyze the viewership data first. Success depends on how well the documentary performs, and since ‘Sean Combs: The Reckoning’ just came out a week ago, the platform will likely wait for more data before deciding whether to make another installment.
The director of the Netflix docu-series, Alexandria Stapleton, told Deadline she would consider making a follow-up to cover more details of the case.
She said she’d be happy to help, as there were a few aspects of the story she found particularly interesting and wanted to explore further.
The story is expansive, with many different directions it could take because it spans several decades. I have ideas for exploring a couple of other related worlds, but I need to take a break and complete some existing commitments first.
If they make a sequel, there’s a ton of stuff from the first game they could really expand on. But honestly, I’m expecting some controversy too, just like we saw when the first one came out. It’s kinda par for the course, you know?
Misa Hylton claps back at Diddy documentary amid Justin Combs rumor
Justin Combs is Sean “Diddy” Combs’ oldest son, born in 1993 to Misa Hylton. He’s Diddy’s first biological child and one of seven children total.

Look, things are getting really messy after that documentary came out. Apparently, Hylton is saying the film led to people harassing her because old rumors about Justin not being Diddy’s biological son are popping up again. She’s also reportedly blaming Gene Deal, Diddy’s old bodyguard, for starting those rumors in the first place. It’s a whole drama, honestly.
According to The Shade Room, Hylton shared a now-deleted post explaining that she’s a private person and felt upset she even had to address something publicly.
My son and I have been deeply hurt by the harassment we’ve experienced, which stems from suggestions made by Gene Deal and claims in a recent Netflix documentary.
People are being given false information about me and my family, and we’ve unfortunately been caught up in a situation we didn’t choose. It’s a hurtful cycle of gossip and hidden motives, so please consider things carefully before you believe what you’re hearing.

Hylton allegedly shared the post alongside videos of Deal discussing Diddy, where Deal expressed willingness to fight him and mentioned the claim that Anthony “Wolf” Jones is Justin’s actual father.
Deal claimed he wasn’t the source of the rumors, explaining, “I understand the comments hurt Justin, and I never corrected them because I didn’t make them in the first place.”
Deal recently responded to comments made by Hylton in an interview with The Art of Dialogue. He said someone sent him a clip of Hylton’s comments, and he questioned how his actions could be considered harassment, stating, “I’ve never harassed you.”
I’ve always looked out for you, but that stops now. It’s wrong for you to try and blame me for the harassment you’re experiencing, and even more wrong to suggest I’m the cause. Your ex, Diddy, is the one responsible for what’s happening to you.
Diddy insider drops bombshell about “stolen” footage

I’m glad the filmmakers already sorted out the legal stuff with the old footage they used – it was a bit of a worry! Actually, it sounds like getting that settled now might make it easier to do a second season, which I’m really hoping for!
Before the release of the documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning, Diddy’s lawyers sent Netflix a legal notice, asking them to stop its release.
Combs’s team claimed that years of private video footage were taken without permission and used in the documentary. They emphasized that the film depended on footage Combs had personally created and kept private, and that he never authorized its release.
Netflix quickly disputed the claims, with Stapleton asserting that all the footage was obtained and used with proper legal clearance. Now, Rob Shuter, Diddy’s previous publicist, has revealed additional information about the footage.
According to a post on his Naughty But Nice newsletter, Shuter alleges that Diddy didn’t compensate the videographer who filmed the recordings before the trial.

From what I’ve heard – and honestly, I’ve got sources close to the situation confirming it – Diddy never paid the videographer. I’ve even heard this directly from someone who worked with him, and it matches what people are saying now. It’s pretty clear he didn’t settle up.
He didn’t pay a dime, and there was never any formal agreement in writing. Honestly, that was typical Diddy. I knew him years ago, and I was always surprised by how disorganized he was with official documents.
He was constantly followed by photographers and videographers, but he wouldn’t sign any official agreements because he didn’t like spending money.
He simply wanted unwavering support and complete discretion. Back then, his influence was so immense that no one would share anything without his express permission.
Let’s be real: if someone in jail is offered money for video footage, that’s not backstabbing – it’s just good business. And honestly, Diddy brought this on himself.

The new Netflix documentary about Sean Combs, produced surprisingly by 50 Cent, is facing criticism from Diddy’s legal team, who claim it’s a biased and unfair film relying on illegally obtained footage.
People are very angry that the document contains highly sensitive, private recordings made shortly before his arrest, including a conversation he had with his attorneys.
Let’s face it, Netflix is a huge company with a lot of money. They wouldn’t show anything – not even a single image – without first making sure it’s legally cleared by their lawyers and doesn’t violate any copyrights. The director says they got the image legally, and people in my field confirm that’s likely true.
The new Netflix documentary, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, is now available to stream. You can also find details on Druski’s reaction to the allegations against Diddy, a statement from Diddy’s legal team regarding the claims, and information on how to watch Downfall of Diddy.
