The fifth and final season of Stranger Things has concluded, bringing the original story to an end, but the world of Stranger Things isn’t finished yet – expect more from the franchise in the future.
The final season of Stranger Things wrapped up with most of the characters finding happiness, and hinted at a new story beginning with a younger group of characters.
Just when I thought the story was over, I heard there are big plans for more Stranger Things! They’re definitely not done with this universe, and I’m so excited to see what they come up with next.
Will there be a Stranger Things Season 6?

No, there will not be a Stranger Things 6, with Season 5 concluding the Hawkins story.
The creators of Stranger Things, Matt and Ross Duffer, have made a new deal with Paramount, signaling the end of their work with Netflix.
The show wrapped up its main plot by definitively defeating Vecna and allowing Hopper and Joyce to get engaged. The kids began to move forward with their lives, while Eleven’s fate was left open-ended – either stuck in the Upside Down, or having found a safe and happy place to be.
In an October interview with Variety, Matt Duffer stated that they’ve wrapped up every storyline they intended for the Demogorgon, Mind Flayer, Vecna, the Upside Down, Hawkins, and all the characters. He confirmed that this is a complete and final story.
But that isn’t the end of the strange tale…
Stranger Things spinoffs are planned

Because Stranger Things has been a huge hit for Netflix, the company is developing several new shows based on the same world and characters.
Regarding the future direction of the show, Ross Duffer explains that while there will be some connections to the original story, they’re planning a format that feels more like a series of standalone stories. They want to avoid simply moving the action to a completely new location, unlike franchises like Star Wars.
So, Matt Duffer was talking about starting fresh with new characters, and honestly, I totally get it. It’s cool because you don’t have any existing storylines or baggage to worry about. It’s like a blank canvas – really freeing, you know?
Matt revealed to ScreenRant that the upcoming spinoff, while having some connections to the original, will essentially be a fresh start. He explained it will feature a new story, take place in a different setting, and star a completely new cast of characters, making it a standalone project.
Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is coming soon
We don’t have a release date for the live-action spinoff yet, but an animated prequel called Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is expected to be released sometime this year.
As a huge fan, I’m so excited for the new show! It’s set right around the time of Season 2, and it follows the characters we love – but in animated form! They’re battling some seriously creepy new monsters and trying to figure out this crazy paranormal mystery that’s got their town on edge. It’s going to be wild!
I absolutely love the animation style – it totally feels like those classic 80s Saturday morning cartoons! And honestly, I’m kind of hoping it keeps going for a long time. The Duffer Brothers even told Variety that they could keep the kids young forever, which is a really exciting thought!
