‘Wild Cards’ Outfit Blink49 Beefs Up Exec Ranks, Taps Lionsgate Alum Andrew Nissen (EXCLUSIVE)

As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that Blink49 Studios is beefing up its leadership team with a string of promotions and an important new hire. This move by the Fifth Season-supported production powerhouse comes as it continues to broaden its influence in the international content market.

Andrew Nissen, a former executive at Lionsgate, has now taken on the position of Vice President for Scripted Television within the company. He will be reporting to Carolyn Newman, who holds the title of Executive Vice President of Global Scripted. Based out of Los Angeles, Nissen is moving from his previous role as the Director of Scripted Television Development at Lionsgate, where he played a key part in bringing high-profile projects such as “A Gentleman in Moscow” to fruition.

In their Toronto office, the leading studio promoted four high-ranking officials. Allison Brough is now a Senior Vice President of Unscripted Television in Toronto, still managing the company’s reality programming portfolio under Toby Dormer, who holds the position of Executive Vice President of Unscripted Television.

Lucy Galstyan has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President for Business and Legal Affairs (Unscripted), based out of our Los Angeles office, overseen by Nicole Levinsohn who holds the Executive Vice President role in Business and Legal Affairs. In terms of finances, Grainne Moley assumes the role of Senior Vice President of Finance, located in Toronto, while Daphne Park moves up to Senior Vice President of Production Finance. Moley will report to COO Nelson Kuo-Lee, and Park will report to GM Jeff Lynas.

John Morayniss, CEO of Blink49 Studios, emphasized that our company’s investment in talent is key to our success. He’s excited to have Andrew join the team and congratulates our outstanding executives on their well-earned promotions. Their leadership, innovation, and dedication to quality will power our goal of creating captivating content for global audiences.

The “exec shuffle” refers to Blink49, a company established in 2021 by experienced professionals like Morayniss and Patrice Theroux, expanding its lineup. Currently, the firm is actively producing various series such as the procedural drama “Wild Cards” (co-produced with CBC and The CW), detective series “Sight Unseen” (co-produced with CTV and The CW), comedic show “The Trades” (aired on Crave), and family drama “Ride” (aired on The CW). In the unscripted segment, their projects include “Queen of the Castle” (CTV Life), “Beast Games” (Prime Video), “The Braxtons” and “Toya & Reginae” (both airing on WE tv).
