Everyone’s been talking about the new TV show ‘Task,’ which has received a lot of praise. However, don’t expect to see a new episode this Sunday – Episode 8 won’t be airing.
Created by Brad Inglesby, the mind behind Mare of Easttown, ‘Task’ follows an FBI team working to dismantle a gang that’s been robbing drug-running motorcycle clubs.
Mark Ruffalo stars as the leader of a team, and Tom Pelphrey plays the main thief. Their paths cross, leading to a dangerous and destructive conflict.
Since its debut on HBO in early September, the show has been gaining a larger and larger audience. Viewership for the sixth episode was 32% higher than for the first. However, there won’t be a new episode this Sunday – and be careful, spoilers follow!
Is there a Task Season 1 Episode 8?

No, there is no Episode 8 of Task Season 1, as Episode 7 was the action-packed series finale.
Just because the first season of Task ended doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of Mark Ruffalo’s character, Tom Brandis! The show’s creator has hinted at a possible second season, which is really exciting for me as a fan.
Brad Ingelsby shared with Esquire that he’s eager to continue the story of ‘Task’ if audiences enjoy it. He loves writing about that world and believes he has plenty more stories to explore there.
Mark Ruffalo has hinted he’s open to continuing the show, so now it’s up to HBO to decide if they want to move forward with it.
What happened in the Season 7 finale?

After the violent clash between the Dark Hearts and the task force in Episode 6, Episode 7 focused on the aftermath, particularly the consequences of Lizzie’s death, which resulted from Grasso’s treachery.
Perry and Jayson both managed to escape, but Perry was then told to kill Jayson in order to protect himself. He refused. This proved to be a mistake, as Jayson ultimately stabbed and killed Perry by the creek, revealing he knew about something Perry had done.
Okay, so I just found out what happened to Grasso. He was telling his sister about everything – how he’s been working and that he was finally going to tell his bosses the truth. But then, out of nowhere, the Deark Hearts shot him! Seriously, he was bleeding badly, but he somehow managed to drive all the way to Maeve’s place. He barely made it, but he warned her that she’s the next target before… well, you can guess. It’s rough, man.
As she tries to escape, Jayson and a friend show up demanding the money, and then Tom and Aleah arrive, leading to a fight. Aleah knocks out Jayson’s friend, while Jayson grabs Maeve as a hostage. Finally, Grasso avenges himself by shooting and killing Jayson.

Grasso dies from his injuries. Meanwhile, Tom makes sure Maeve receives the money she’s owed, allowing her to build a fresh start with Robbie’s children. The narrative then shifts focus to Brandis and the difficulties he’s facing.
At Ethan’s sentencing, Tom shared a statement from his family, explaining the heartbreaking events that resulted in Ethan tragically taking the life of his wife. Tom concluded by telling Ethan he loved him and offered his forgiveness.
I’m not asking the court to decide when my son should be released; that’s a matter for the legal process. I want Ethan to know that I’ll be prepared and waiting for him the moment he comes home. He should come straight home to me when he’s released.
The episode concludes with young Sam finding a new home through adoption. Meanwhile, Tom is preparing a bedroom, likely getting ready for Ethan to come home.
You can now watch all seven episodes of Task on HBO. Here’s the latest on whether the show will be renewed for a second season.
