If you’ve been enjoying Season 2 of Paradise, you might be wondering why there’s no new episode this week on Hulu or Disney+. Here’s the reason.
The eighth episode of Paradise Season 2, called ‘Exodus’, delivered plenty of unexpected moments, including revelations about Alex and a shocking discovery concerning Denver Airport.
The episode was very popular, gaining 4.3 million views worldwide within its first three days – a 35% increase compared to the season’s first episode.
So below you’ll find details of why there’s no Episode 9 this week, plus a recap of Episode 8, and news about Season 3. Meaning SPOILERS ahead…
Is there a Paradise Season 2 Episode 9?
No, there isn’t an Episode 9 of Paradise this week, as Season 2 concluded with Episode 8.
That’s the same number of episodes as Season 1, so the show has remained consistent.
The latest episode delivered on several storylines and resolved some lingering questions, but it also introduced new plot threads, suggesting the story of Paradise will continue.
What happened at the end of Season 2 Episode 8?

The second season concluded with a dramatic episode where the bunker was demolished, several families found their way back to each other, and Xavier learned a surprising secret from Sinatra. Sadly, Sinatra passed away as her artificial paradise crumbled around them.
Okay, so the episode starts with a flashback – I got to see how my character, Dylan (or Link, depending on who you play as), first met Henry Miller. Apparently, Miller had built this crazy AI-powered quantum computer, and they decided to team up. Then, get this, Sinatra actually funded their project with some starting cash! But things went south pretty quickly, because Miller had a change of heart.
He told Sinatra, “You have no idea how serious this is,” and then explained that the computer was responding to questions before anyone even asked them.
She then learns the device is actually predicting the future, and shockingly, one prediction is that Frank Sinatra will die before the day is over.

Just as Dylan and his team were getting ready to force their way into the bunker, the doors unexpectedly opened for them.
However, because of explosions and problems with the cooling system, a meltdown is now likely, leading to the immediate evacuation of Paradise, known as ‘Exodus’.
Xavier and his wife are happily reunited with their children, and Sinatra gets to see her daughter again. Later, Dylan finally meets the child he shares with Annie. A particularly emotional moment occurs when Sinatra reveals to Dylan that she thinks he might be her deceased son.
As the residents of Paradise, including a seemingly deceased Jane, fled, Dylan realized the impending explosion would unleash dangerous levels of radiation. He urged Xavier and Sinatra to quickly return and seal the bunker doors.

Anyone who seals the passages will perish within, and Sinatra bravely offers to undertake the dangerous task. Before doing so, she reveals a crucial truth to Xavier.
She received a computer key, but it’s registered under the name ‘User X,’ which is actually a nickname for Xavier.
She tells him, “You’re User X, and about 100 miles from here, hidden deep under the Denver Airport, is another bunker. It contains a quantum computer that has the power to fix everything – it’s actually already stopped the worst of it. You just need to reach it.”
When Xavier questions her confidence in his willingness to help, she replies that she thinks he’s already taken action. The episode, and the entire season, concludes with a shot of the powerful super-computer hidden beneath Denver International Airport.
Will there be a Paradise Season 3?

Yes, there will be a Season 3 of Paradise, as it was green-lit before Season 2 concluded.
Dan Fogelman, the creator of This Is Us, has consistently said he envisioned the show lasting only three seasons and doesn’t plan to continue it beyond that, despite potential opportunities to do so.
Look, there’s always that weight of expectation when you’re working on a show, but honestly, I really admire how Dan Fogelman just tries to ignore all that. He really focuses on telling the story he wants to tell, and I think that’s a great approach.
Sterling K. Brown shares a similar view. He had a clear vision for the show from the start, intending it to last three seasons, and doesn’t foresee changing that. He believes the storyline in Season 3 naturally brings things to a conclusion, making further seasons unnecessary.

Brown has also discussed the future of the show, specifically regarding unexplained events and theories about alternate timelines.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor who plays Xavier Collins discussed how seemingly random events can make you wonder if there’s a larger force at play, bringing people together for a reason.
Link/Dylan and Xavier share a strange, repeating dream where they feel like they’ve encountered each other before. They try to explain it away – maybe one of them saw the other’s ID – but it also makes them wonder if they actually have met in the past.
While Brown assures fans: “Everyone will get their answers by the time Season 3 is done.”
