The latest episode of Alien: Earth left viewers on a huge cliffhanger, but unfortunately, those hoping for answers in the next episode will be let down. Be warned – spoilers are coming up!
Towards the end of Episode 8, the hybrids have gained control over most people. Kirsh, Morrow, Dame Sylvia, and Boy Kavalier are imprisoned together, and Wendy’s Xenomorph pet is still surviving. Unbeknownst to everyone, a tiny ‘eye midge’ (T. Ocellus) has entered Arthur’s body on the beach.
Okay, so I’m seriously wondering what’s going to happen next! Yutani is on her way to the island, and it’s completely isolated now. I’m really curious to see how she’ll react to Wendy, but honestly? I’m even more excited about the possibility that this show could become something like *Andor* was for *Rogue One* – will we see things start to connect with the events leading up to the *Nostromo*’s launch?
The show leaves many questions unanswered, and we’ll have to wait quite a while to get more answers.
Is there an Alien: Earth Episode 9?
Unfortunately, there won’t be a ninth episode of Alien: Earth. The first season concluded with its eighth episode, and FX hasn’t yet announced whether the show will be renewed for a second season.
Discussions are underway to bring the show back for another season, and with its popularity and positive reviews, an official announcement may be coming soon.
Noah Hawley confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that discussions are underway and he’s been brainstorming ideas.
The show’s global success was really positive, and FX is known for its careful approach to production. I believe this is a key reason for their consistent success – they avoid overspending and only invest what a show is likely to earn back.
Wow! The finale of Alien Earth was incredible and left me on the edge of my seat! We’re all hoping for a second season to be announced soon! #AlienEarth

We’re not just deciding if we should produce more, but also considering the cost and how long it will take. We’re actively discussing all of this, but I can’t give you a specific timeframe right now.
Regarding how much the original *Alien* movie might influence the show going forward, Noah Hawley hinted that while he can appreciate complex storylines and established lore, he’s not naturally drawn to focusing heavily on them.
I usually start by deciding on the main story I want to share, and then I see how any new details connect to it.
I’m still deeply involved in the world we built for the show. Now that we’re likely to have a second season, I’d really focus on the overall story and how it connects to the existing films. I’d also need to consider established timelines and key events that we can’t change.
