Well, folks, Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 has officially wrapped up with Episode 11, which aired on September 27, 2025. As a viewer, I can say this season covered a really exciting part of the story – the “Kaiju Weapon Arc.” It basically adapted chapters 40 through 55 of the original manga, giving us a good, solid run through that storyline.

Kaiju No. 8 is set in a world regularly threatened by enormous monsters known as kaiju. The series is adapted from the manga of the same name by Naoya Matsumoto. The story centers around Kafka Hibino, who always wanted to join the Japanese Anti-Kaiju Defense Force (JAKDF) and battle these creatures with his friend from childhood, Mina Ashiro. But his life changes unexpectedly when he becomes infected with a parasitic organism, granting him the power to transform into a kaiju-like humanoid. Following a chain of incidents, he receives the designation “Kaiju No. 8” and secretly enlists in the JAKDF’s 3rd Division.

Wow, the Season 2 finale of Kaiju No. 8, Episode 11, was seriously intense! It was a really dark ending. What I found especially cool was seeing the Kaijus attack multiple cities all at once – it really showed how smart they are. And Mina Ashiro? She was incredible, taking down Kaiju after Kaiju. The best part? She was destroying them from miles away with her weapons! It was a fantastic way to wrap up the season.

However, things took a turn when several massive kaiju appeared in various places, leading the team to register a resilience score exceeding 9. Shortly after, most soldiers felt outmatched by the kaiju. At the same time, the analysts realized that each kaiju was unique and specifically designed to defeat human tactics. Just when the situation looked hopeless, Kafka defied direct orders and ran onto the battlefield. The episode concluded with Kafka transforming into Kaiju No. 8.

As of now, the creators of the show haven’t confirmed a third season. However, considering the way the last episode concluded, there’s a strong chance it will be renewed.
