It was recently revealed that Chris Evans was originally planned for a scene after the credits of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and now we know more about the reason behind it.

Why was The Fantastic Four: First Step’s original post-credits scene cut?

A reliable source reported last week that an early version of the post-credits scene for First Steps would have featured the Fantastic Four going to Steve Rogers’ home on Earth. They would have asked for his help with a problem related to a potential multiversal crisis.

Currently, a scene featuring Captain Rogers is confirmed to be in the new Avengers: Doomsday movie. Nerd Tower reported on X that the scene was originally cut because Marvel worried viewers wouldn’t understand it. However, with the movie’s release and the recent trailers, Rogers’ involvement now seems much clearer.

Okay, so we don’t really know the plot of Avengers: Doomsday yet, but the cast list is insane! I mean, we’re talking Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright as the new Black Panther, and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man – it’s going to be epic just seeing them all together!

The movie’s cast includes Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent/John Walker, Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing/Ben Grimm, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast, Lewis Pullman as Bob/Sentry, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.

The next X-Men movie will feature the return of several familiar faces, including Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.

The movie Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to come out on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
