The show ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms‘ has captivated viewers for the past six weeks, but there won’t be a new episode this Sunday, and there’s a clear explanation why.
HBO’s ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ has proven very popular, thanks to showrunner Ira Parker. The series tells a straightforward story about a knight and his assistant in short episodes that don’t involve any dragons.
Season 1 is based on the first story in George R.R. Martin’s ‘Dunk & Egg’ series. It follows Ser Duncan the Tall and his apprentice as they travel to a tournament at Ashford, where Dunk unexpectedly finds himself involved in a Trial by Combat.
The latest episode focused on the aftermath of the recent conflict, and here’s why we won’t be seeing the story continue next Sunday with a new episode.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms concluded with Episode 6

Episode 6 marked the end of Season 1 for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, so there won’t be another episode this season.
The length of the AKotSK series has been a point of debate among fans from the beginning. Some wished for episodes that were longer, similar to shows like Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, while others felt the six half-hour installments would have worked better as a single, feature-length film.
In a recent interview with CBR, the showrunner, Ira Parker, explained that George R.R. Martin originally preferred a two-hour movie adaptation. However, HBO was flexible and gave Parker and his team the freedom to choose any length or format they desired.

The show will continue with the same format as before, and Parker has confirmed to Variety that Season 2 will also have six episodes.
Parker said the length worked out perfectly. HBO gave them a lot of flexibility, saying episodes could range from 30 to 60 minutes, allowing them to adapt the material naturally. They were happy with HBO’s approach and support.
The first season concluded with Dunk and Egg setting off for Dorne to begin a new journey. The final scene also showed the ghost of Ser Arlan riding away, signaling the end of his guidance for Ser Duncan.
You can now watch all six episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms on HBO. If you’re looking for more from the world of Game of Thrones, here’s the latest on a Jon Snow spin-off, what we know about Season 3 of House of the Dragon, and a helpful guide to the Seven Kingdoms.
