Wholesome cat gets his own lifetime library card after refusing to stop visiting

A library in Quebec has given a lifetime membership to one of its most dedicated patrons.

Most libraries don’t allow pets, but the Dorval Library is an exception for Muffin, a friendly five-year-old cat who has been a daily visitor for years.

From banned at the yacht club to lifetime library member

According to CTV News, Muffin, a local feline, is a regular at the library and knows the opening and closing times like clockwork. He faithfully waits by the doors for staff to arrive, eager to start his role as the library’s unofficial mascot. He’s so committed, in fact, that he once attempted to hide in librarian Kyra Paquet’s car to get inside!

Muffin is now a perfect angel at the library, which is quite a change from his previous escapades. He once snuck into a yacht club’s dining room and caused a commotion – everyone thought he was a raccoon! As a result, his owner was told he’s no longer allowed to visit.

The library staff and visitors adore the cat. According to Paquet, people’s faces brighten up whenever they see him greeting them at the door.

Since the cat, Muffin, won’t leave the library on his own, staff have to carry him outside when it closes each night.

Amanda Judd, a library employee, confessed that even though she prefers dogs, the library’s special visitor changed her mind. The staff was so impressed with his consistent visits that they officially gave Muffin a lifetime library card.
