Robert Irwin and Witney Carson have won the 34th season of Dancing With The Stars! Despite Irwin injuring his ribs during rehearsals, they received high scores from the judges and enough fan votes to take home the Mirrorball trophy. Host Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough revealed that both Irwin and runner-up Alix Earle received more individual votes than any other contestant in DWTS history, and the competition was incredibly close. A tearful Irwin thanked fans, saying his sister told him they had changed his life. This is Carson’s second win – she previously won with Ribeiro in 2014.
Robert Irwin has followed in his sister Bindi’s footsteps, winning the mirrorball trophy ten years after her 2015 victory. He’s already lined up his next television role, co-hosting the Australian version of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!. While he might be a good fit for The Bachelor someday, Robert is also hoping to pursue more acting work. He’s currently voicing a koala character named Robert Furwin in Zootopia 2, and dreams of becoming an action star – but always with a focus on raising awareness for wildlife, a passion he shares with his signature khaki shorts.
