Who is Kimpro? The world’s most-viewed YouTuber making an estimated $117M per year

In 2025, Korean creator Kimpro quickly became the most popular channel on the internet, surpassing even established stars like MrBeast. But who is Kimpro, and what makes their content so popular?

This YouTube channel is run by two cousins who started creating content in 2017. They’ve gained a huge following, racking up over 117 billion views from their 3,752 videos, most of which are Shorts. Their most popular Short has been viewed 830 million times.

Kimpro was started by Kim Dong-jun, who previously worked as a performance planner. He partnered with his cousin, the popular influencer Yu Baek-hap, and the channel quickly became successful thanks to consistently popular mukbang videos and comedy skits.

In March 2023, Yu Ha-young and Jeong Hee-rim joined the project, and the team began operating as ‘OK TEAM’. They work together using a clear system where different members handle planning, filming, appearing on camera, and editing. Most of their content is created as a team for their ‘Kimpro’ channel.

Although Kimpro has the ninth-largest subscriber base worldwide with 128 million followers, it became the most-watched channel on the platform in 2025. It outperformed Double Date, an Australian channel that came in second place, by more than 15 million views.

According to stat-tracking website Playboard, Kimpro amassed 77,533,148,491 views in 2025.

Just to give you an idea of how many views that’s, MrBeast, the most popular person on YouTube, received over 38 billion views on his channel last year.

Kimpro makes bank off YouTube Shorts

Kimpro shared a celebratory video on YouTube, expressing gratitude to viewers for helping the channel reach a major milestone.

He expressed complete gratitude, saying, “This wouldn’t have been possible without you.” He added that they plan to keep creating high-quality content and improving in 2026, and thanked everyone for their continued support.

The success is also resulting in a fortune for the Koreans.

NoxInfluencer, a marketing analytics website, estimates that Kimpro earns about 470 million Korean won (roughly $323,000 USD) each day. This adds up to over 170 billion won (around $117 million USD) per year. It’s important to note that these are just estimates and can change depending on things like the type of ads used and where the audience is located.
