Players of Where Winds Meet have discovered ways to trick the AI characters into giving them quest rewards without completing the quests themselves. Currently, two different techniques have been found that successfully encourage the AI characters to hand over the rewards.
The AI characters in this free-to-play RPG have been a point of contention, with some players finding them unsettling. However, most agree that these minor AI issues are a small price to pay for a high-quality action-RPG experience without a hefty price tag.
If you find the way some characters deliver their quests a bit strange, there’s an easy way to get your rewards without having to listen to it! Redditors discovered that simply responding to them using the same phrasing they use is the quickest way to claim what you’ve earned.

People playing with the chatbots noticed a strange quirk: the bots would sometimes include actions or expressions in parentheses within their responses – a bit like how people used to express themselves on older messaging platforms. Interestingly, if you type actions in parentheses, the chatbot will act as if you’ve actually performed them, even though nothing changes in reality.
If using strange punctuation doesn’t work on the NPC, you can try repeating part of their question back to them. Basically, when they ask something, respond by echoing their last few words as a question. This tactic, similar to the classic ‘I know you are but what am I’ comeback, can confuse the chatbot enough to make it give you what you want.

These methods might not feel as rewarding as helping someone in a game, but they’re still a better option than dealing with a frustrating chatbot.
