Where was Knives Out 3 filmed? Filming locations from Wake Up Dead Man

For fans of crime dramas, Netflix offers the Knives Out series, starring Daniel Craig as the detective Benoit Blanc. So far, there are three movies, and like many stories in this genre, each one features a new location and a fresh cast of characters for Blanc to investigate as he solves the mystery.

Having investigated a family dispute and a tech mogul’s secrets, Benoit Blanc now faces his most perilous mystery yet – a case unfolding within a church.

Where was Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery filmed?

Many people watching Knives Out 3 are wondering where Wake Up Dead Man was filmed. Here’s a look at the locations used for Benoit Blanc’s latest case.

Production on the third Knives Out movie has started in London. While specific locations within the city and nearby areas haven’t been revealed, more is known about the key setting: a church that plays a central role in the story of Wake Up Dead Man.

The filmmakers chose Holy Innocents Church in High Beech, Essex – located in Epping Forest – as the exterior for the church in the film. This late 19th-century church has become a well-known filming location, and the crew utilized its entire setting, including the cemetery and nearby roads, for filming.

The church’s inside wasn’t actually used for filming. Instead, the team working on Knives Out 3 built their own set at Leavesden Film Studios in Hertfordshire – the same studios where movies like Harry Potter were made.

The Knives Out 3 film crew was also reportedly seen near Butler’s Retreat in Chingford.

If you’re a fan of the Knives Out movies and want to experience a filming location, Holy Innocents Church is a must-see when you’re nearby. It appears to be a key setting in the third film.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will be available on Netflix from December 12, 2025.
