Pikachu Wild Zone 3 location
As a long-time Pokémon fan, I remember hunting for Pikachu in so many different games! Sometimes it meant trekking all over the place hoping one would appear, or being lucky enough to start with one like in Pokémon Yellow. But Legends: Arceus had a really unique way – you had to become best friends with a Pichu and help it evolve! It was such a cool experience.
Finding a Pikachu in Pokemon Legends: Z-A isn’t difficult. Just head to Wild Zone 3, located in the northern area of Lumiose City.
Catching a Pikachu in Wild Zone 3
Wild Zone 3, like other areas of its kind in the game, is a habitat for many different Pokémon. You can find Pokémon like Pikachu, Litleo, Skiddo, and Flabébé living there. Specifically, Pikachus tend to gather in groups of two or more within each section of the garden.
It’s hard to catch this Pokémon by surprise, so it’s best to weaken it in battle first. When it’s stunned, quickly throw a Poké Ball – or even a Great Ball for a better chance of catching it!

Catching an Alpha Pikachu
You can definitely find an Alpha Pikachu! These Alphas are bigger and more aggressive than the standard ones. We actually discovered one in Wild Zone 6 – it was level 41 and relaxing on the roof of the building furthest north.
Pikachu’s evolution and traits
Just like previous titles, the Pikachu species has the following traits:
- Type: Electric
- Evolution: Pichu -> Pikachu -> Raichu (use a Thunder Stone to evolve).
- Notable abilities: Thunder Shock, Nuzzle, Thunder Bolt, Spark.
That wraps up our guide to finding Pikachu in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. If you’re interested in finding other popular Pokemon, check out our guide to Eevee locations. We also have a guide to the best Pokemon to use early in the game if you’re building your team.
