Wheelhouse Entertainment Promotes Courtney White to President, Glenn Hugill to Chief Creative Officer and Head of Wheelhouse Studios

Brent Montgomery’s Wheelhouse Entertainment has elevated Courtney White to the position of President, while Glenn Hugill now holds the titles of Chief Creative Officer for the company and President of Wheelhouse Studios.

Beyond his current duties at Butternut, White’s responsibilities will broaden to encompass supervising all U.S. labels under Wheelhouse, which comprise Spoke Studios, the emerging true crime production company Twist, Wheelhouse DNA (the digital and audio division), and more. Additionally, White will assist in managing Wheelhouse’s physical production partnerships, such as those with chef David Chang’s Majordomo Media and NBA player Anthony Edwards’ Three Fifths Media.

Starting from now, Hugill assumes the positions of Chief Creative Officer at Wheelhouse Entertainment and President of Wheelhouse Studios, their newly established international content center. In his current role, he has been leading the company’s UK operations and serving as Chief Content Officer since January 2023. His responsibilities will continue to include managing creative development and production for global formats under the Wheelhouse Studios brand, with a focus on “exciting competition series, intriguing social experiments, and thrilling game shows.” Hugill will continue to work from the London offices.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m excited to share that in 2018, under the leadership of CEO Montgomery and my friend Jimmy Kimmel, Wheelhouse Entertainment was born. More recently, we’ve broadened our horizons by introducing Twist, spearheaded by experienced TV executive and producer Jane Latman. To fuel our growth even further, we received a minority investment from Alignment Growth last April. It’s an exciting time for us at Wheelhouse!

Before embarking on the lifestyle production venture Butternut with Wheelhouse in 2022, I held the position of president at Food Network and general manager at HGTV. Since my arrival at Butternut, I’ve been overseeing a variety of series such as Max and Food Network’s “Last Bite Hotel,” HGTV’s “Divided by Design,” Roku’s “Celebrity Family Food Battle” and Discovery ID’s “Bodies in the Water.” On a broader scale within Wheelhouse, I’m currently involved in the development of Spoke Studios shows including A&E’s “Duck Dynasty: The Revival,” Netflix’s “W.A.G.s to Riches” and “Million Dollar Secret,” and Hulu’s upcoming series “Got To Get Out.” As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m excited to be part of this incredible journey!

After coming aboard at Wheelhouse, Hugill has been instrumental in developing and selling some of the company’s most prominent shows such as “Million Dollar Secret,” “Got to Get Out,” and “Last Bite Hotel.

Montgomery stated that our aim is continually to forge new paths. By strengthening our fundamental operations under the strong guidance of Courtney and Glenn, who swiftly created and implemented our most thrilling project portfolio to date, this will enable us to concentrate more intensely on other vital areas such as sports, YouTube, and the broader creator economy.

White expressed gratitude for being able to gain from Wheelhouse’s daring aspirations and unwavering dedication to collaboration, which brings out the best in their creative minds. He is thrilled to further enhance his involvement with the company and its exceptional teams as they venture into new business avenues, spark innovative partnerships, and generate content that steers pop culture discussions.

Hugill stated: “Brent convinced me to join Wheelhouse to establish a trans-Atlantic creative dream team, and that’s precisely what we’re doing. We collaborate uniquely to leverage our individual strengths throughout the entire group, which is incredibly exciting! It’s fantastic to have access to top-tier business associates within the company – all specialists in their respective fields. Simultaneously, the opportunity to develop our most ambitious and daring global projects from the new international Wheelhouse Studios is nothing short of a home run. I believe that term comes from baseball.
