Okay, so Stephen is being Stephen again in Tell Me Lies Season 3, Episode 5. He’s really zeroing in on Diana this time, and honestly, it’s stressing me out. I have no idea what he’s going to do next, but everyone’s buzzing about his plan with those photos of Diana – it’s seriously creepy and I’m worried about what’s coming!
In the second season of the Hulu series, Diana (Alicia Crowder) ended her relationship with Stephen (Jackson White) by pretending she hadn’t done well on the LSAT. Although she actually scored very high on the exam, she feared Stephen wouldn’t want to be with her if he knew she’d succeeded.
Her strategy succeeded, allowing her to begin a loving and secure relationship with Pippa (Sonia Mena). But Stephen isn’t giving up, and throughout the third season of Tell Me Lies, he’s repeatedly tried—and failed—to control her.
He always needs a safety net, as we’ve seen with how he forced Lucy to record a confession about Chris. The latest episode shows he’s done the same thing with Diana, securing something to use against her if needed.
Tell Me Lies Season 3 theory on what Stephen will do with Diana’s photos

There’s a concerning new idea circulating that Stephen might sabotage Diana’s law school applications by sending intimate photos of her to the colleges she’s considering. This could severely damage her chances of getting accepted.
Okay, so in Season 3, Episode 4, things get really intense! Stephen unexpectedly finds out Diana’s pregnant – she was trying to keep it a secret, but he hears about it through friends. Then, she tells him she’s already made plans to have an abortion. It’s a huge moment, and honestly, really heartbreaking to watch.
It really frustrated me to see Stephen get upset that Diana didn’t ask his permission first – honestly, it felt like he thought he still had control over her! But Diana quickly shut that down, letting him know things had changed and he didn’t get a say anymore. It was so satisfying to watch her stand up for herself.
In the most recent episode, Stephen learns he’s been accepted to Yale Law School. He and Diana had always planned to attend together, so when he sees her at the library, he excitedly shares the news hoping to gauge her reaction.
He was shocked when she told him she’d also been accepted. Then, Diana admitted she’d actually lied about her LSAT score—she’d done it just to avoid him.

He asked if they were still on for New Haven, but Diana responded that she wouldn’t be going to Yale. She planned to apply to other schools, like Stanford or Harvard, explaining she didn’t want to attend law school with him.
Later in the episode, Stephen is shown nervously walking around his dorm room, seemingly planning something. He eventually opens his laptop and discovers a secret file containing compromising photos of Diana. He prepares to send them in an email, but the recipient remains a mystery.
Everyone expected Stephen to act terribly, and viewers are now concerned about what he’ll do next. One Reddit user expressed their fear, writing, “I’m really worried about what Stephen will do with Diana’s pictures. He’s genuinely the worst.”
People have speculated about his intentions, and one person believes he might share the images publicly to sabotage her chances of getting into law school.
It’s important to remember the time this happened – 2009. Revenge porn laws didn’t exist yet, and society hadn’t begun to shift its views on this kind of behavior.

Someone noted that if this happened today, Diana would be the one facing consequences for revenge porn, not Stephen – a clear double standard.
However, others have a different idea. One person suggested that sending Diana’s photos to law schools might actually attract their attention and encourage them to help her with a revenge porn case. They also questioned why Stephen would be the one sending the photos in the first place.
This makes me think he’s likely sending the items to her father, possibly as a way to blackmail her or something similar.
Some people still believe Diana can trick Stephen. One person said, “I’m hoping she has a plan to trap him – I mean Stephen.”
Okay, so I’ve been totally hooked on ‘Tell Me Lies,’ and the first five episodes of Season 3 are already out on Hulu! I’m dying to know what happens next, and episode 6 is coming on February 3rd. While we wait, I’ve been reading up on all the wedding drama – seriously, who was calling Bree?! – and whether Stephen’s character is based on a real person. Plus, there’s a bunch of other new shows everyone’s talking about this month, so I’m definitely checking those out too.
