This version of reality was drastically different: his father was kind, his brother was still alive, and he shared a romantic relationship with Harcourt. Importantly, he hadn’t killed Rick Flag Jr. in this timeline.
Whenever he visits, everything feels ideal – people adore him and treat him like a hero. Considering he unintentionally killed another version of himself, it makes sense he’d consider simply taking that version’s place.
