What happened in Episode 2?

Episode 2, ‘The Commander and the Grey Lady,’ was a more contained story, mostly taking place at Henry Muck’s grand house and centering on his deteriorating mental state.

The story unfolds at Henry’s 40th birthday party, a milestone that painfully reminds Muck of his father’s suicide, which happened on his own 40th birthday.

Yasmine is throwing a costume party and has invited a diverse group of people, including her husband’s friends and family, a possible new colleague for him from Tender, and the MP who recently won the election against Henry.

While his friends are enjoying themselves, Henry is falling apart, using drugs heavily, getting into heated arguments about social issues, and even contemplating suicide.

He causes a disturbance at his birthday dinner, then goes to a pub with someone he believes is an old friend. There, he violently attacks a local man. It’s then shockingly revealed that this friend is actually a hallucination of his father, leading Henry to a complete breakdown.

Henry goes to the garage and starts his deceased father’s car, intending to end his life with carbon monoxide. However, he suddenly hears Yasmine’s voice in his thoughts, giving him a reason to keep living.

He barely manages to get away, and he and Yasmine reconnect intimately on the hood of the car. Feeling refreshed, Henry decides to accept the job he was previously offered and expresses his desire to start a family and have a baby.

However, Yasmine’s expression made it clear she wasn’t convinced things were truly okay with her husband, and she definitely didn’t think they were ready to have a child.
