Find out when and where you can watch the second episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and catch up on everything that happened in the first episode.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a standalone story by George R.R. Martin, set in the world of his novels between the timelines of House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones.
The story centers around Ser Duncan the Tall, a knight who enters a dangerous tournament, and his growing bond with a young boy named Egg, who serves as his squire.
The first episode came out last week and was very well-received. Below, you’ll find a summary of what happened, as well as the dates for upcoming episodes.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 2 release date & time
Just a heads-up for all my fellow Game of Thrones fans – the next episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms drops on HBO Max on January 25, 2026! It’ll be starting at 7pm Eastern Time, or 10pm Pacific, so set those reminders!
Okay, so if you’re in the UK, you can catch the show on Sky or Now TV. But if you’re outside the UK, things get a little trickier. I’ve heard a VPN can help – basically, it lets you appear like you’re in the UK. You’ll still need a subscription to the streaming service itself, but you can get around region locks by using a gift card to pay, or checking if it’s available on things like Amazon Prime Video.
If you’re watching from a different time zone, here are some alternative showtimes to help you tune in:
- 12am Brazil (January 26)
- 3am UK (January 26)
- 4am Central European Time (January 26)
- 8.30am India Standard Time (January 26)
- 2pm Australia (January 26)
- 4pm New Zealand (January 26)
How many episodes are there?

What happened in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 1?

The first episode began with Duncan grieving the loss of his mentor, Ser Arlan of Pennytree. He held a burial for Arlan, took possession of his mentor’s sword and shield, and vowed to look after his horses, before attending to a personal need.
Duncan is heading to Ashford for a tournament when he encounters a young orphan hoping to become his squire. Duncan declines the boy’s offer and continues on his way.
When Dunk arrives at Ashford, the Master of Games questions whether he’s a true knight and insists someone else confirm his status. Unfortunately, the one knight who could help – Ser Manfred Dondarrion – won’t vouch for him.

Dunk went to a puppet show with a dragon that breathed fire, and then had a lively time partying with the unusual Ser Lyonel Baratheon.
He went to his bed under the tree, where Egg was already waiting. Dunk agreed to take the boy on as his squire, and together they saw a shooting star – a sight the other knights, asleep inside, missed. It seemed like luck was on their side…
